Sean Rice is a remote software engineer stationed in Montana, working under Robert Hubley in the Hood Lab here at ISB. Sean studied 3 years at the University of Montana before receiving his undergrad in Computer Science, after which he decided to put his studies on hold in favor of seeking industry experience. Sean’s most recent work has involved porting various search engines and DNA alignment objects (some 20 years old or older) from Perl into Python in order to improve documentation, readability, and reevaluate design decisions.
